About Pak Roots Academy
What is Pak Roots Academy?

What will my child learn?
Children learn to speak, understand, read and write Urdu. They also learn about Pakistani culture and traditions, Pakistan’s history and heritage, and take part in arts and crafts, storytelling, poetry and cultural activities.
What age group do you teach?
Our Sunday classes are for children aged 5 to 12.
Classes, times and place
When are classes?
Classes run every Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.
Where are classes held?
At Herschel Grammar School, Northampton Avenue, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 3BW. You can find directions on our Contact Us page.
Does my child need to know Urdu already?
No. The enrolment form asks whether your child is fluent, has some understanding, is a beginner or has had no previous Urdu, so that we know where they are starting.
How big are the classes?
We keep class sizes small so that children receive personal attention. If you would like to know more about how classes are organised, please contact us.
Who collects my child at the end of a session?
Parents and guardians must ensure that their child is collected on time at the end of each session. Pak Roots Academy is not responsible for children outside class hours.
Fees and payment
How much do classes cost?
The monthly fee is £80. You can also pay termly, 12 weeks in advance, for £192, which saves £48 compared with paying monthly.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes. There is a one-off registration fee of £40 per child, which covers resources, books, activities and materials.
Is there a discount for siblings?
A sibling discount is available. Please contact us for details.
Are fees refundable?
All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Fees are due on time to secure your child’s place and keep our learning environment consistent.
Registration
How do I register my child?
Complete the enrolment form on our Fees and Registration page. It asks for your child’s details, parent or guardian details, medical information, permissions and agreement to the terms.
How soon will you reply?
We usually reply within 2 working days. We will email you to confirm your child’s place and how to pay the registration fee.
When is my child’s place confirmed?
A place is confirmed on submission of the form and payment of the registration fee.
Why do you ask for medical information?
So that teachers know about any allergies, medical conditions, additional learning needs or medication, and can look after your child properly. Please tell us about any change to medical or emergency contact details immediately.
What permissions do you ask for?
The form asks separately for permission to use photographs and videos of your child in marketing and social media, for your child to take part in arts, crafts, cultural activities and academy events, and for us to contact you about classes, events and updates. Each is a separate choice.
