Our Story

Pak Roots Academy was born from something very close to our hearts — our own family.

Having lived in the UK for many years, we have had the privilege of experiencing and appreciating two cultures. We have built our lives here, watched our children grow up here, and become part of the wonderful multicultural community around us.

But along the way, we began to realise something.

As our children grew up in the UK, surrounded by a different language, culture and way of life, we realised that their connection with Pakistan and their heritage could easily become distant with each generation.

We wanted our children to know more than just where their family came from.

We wanted them to understand their roots — to speak and understand Urdu, discover the beauty of our language, learn about Pakistan’s history and culture and celebrate its traditions.

Most importantly, we wanted them to grow up feeling proud of who they are and where they come from.

That is where the idea of Pak Roots Academy began.

What started as a desire to give our own children a stronger connection to their Pakistani heritage grew into a vision that we wanted to share with other families too.

Because we know that many Pakistani families living abroad share the same hope — to give their children the opportunities and experiences of life in the UK, while also ensuring that they never lose the connection to their roots.

More Than an Academy

Pak Roots Academy is not simply a business or a Sunday school to us.

It is personal.

It comes from our own experience as a family living between two cultures, and from our love for Pakistan, our language, traditions and heritage — and our desire to pass that love on to the next generation.

We believe that children should be able to embrace the world they are growing up in without having to lose the culture they come from.

We want them to leave our classrooms not only knowing more Urdu or more about Pakistan, but carrying something much more valuable with them:

A sense of belonging.
A sense of identity.
And pride in their roots. 🇵🇰

Today, we hope to build a community where every child can grow up knowing where they come from, understanding their heritage, and feeling proud of the roots that are a part of their story.

Children learn to speak, understand, read and write Urdu, building confidence in using the language with family and in everyday conversations.

We introduce children to Pakistan’s history, famous places, traditions, celebrations, clothing, food and cultural heritage in an age-appropriate and interesting way.

Children take part in fun arts and crafts, storytelling, poetry and cultural activities, bringing what they learn about Pakistan to life.
